Small Sami-style Kniv Plate a Franz Richter band wheelGene Tokheim took his first knife making class at the Vesterheim Norwegian American Museum in 1986 with Hvard Bergland of Hamar, Norway. He studied Knife making as a special student at what is now the Telemark Folk Art Academy in 1989 and took more classes through the Vesterheim upon return to the US.
