but the perimeter has had loss apart from not side top and the back panel

It is not hinged

The frame is original and has suffered some loss over time and has had restoration work that is quite well done

The link-hinged mounts at each side are drilled with 4 holes

The top is semi transparent shell so you can see the beautiful mottles of cognac to chocolate of the shell, while the rest of the box is in wood with tortoise shell veneer. It does have an ivory lip, and ivory feet (one slightly different and apparently a replacement). Full measurements noted on the photos. Very good
