The leather pouch is supple and tactile and the fact that it has survived is pleasing

The generously proportioned mahogany framed library armchair with racing green leather button upholstered domed back and substantial rectangular arms on turned supports and turned front legs with ceramic castors surviving from the last quarter of the nineteenth century and from Argal  Manor

The picture remains in original though unrestored condition with no over-painting and a good deal of craquelure and paint fleck loss to the surface
