this ring is a wonderful example of early 19th century craftsmanship

One side has been partially polished out and onto which has been hand engraved with ‘Maud‘ and unusual the back also been engraved the with the year 1894

allowing the intaglio to take centre stage

The setting is a satisfyingly tactile heavy 9 carat gold band

The gold serpents have a satin matt finish on it giving a relative glow the gold

Beautifully preserved with a wonderfully crisp and ornate setting crafted from gold cased base metal. The design is richly detailed, displaying the fine decorative craftsmanship so characteristic of the era. Darling from all angles. The base is set with a mossy green glass intaglio seal, finely hand engraved with a delicate rose and rosebud. A timeless symbol of affection sat above which is the word LOVE.
