In recent years the reds have gone stratospheric in terms of quality

Cherry fruited whilst subtly hinting at the 60% whole bunch with notes of herbs and a pinch of white pepper

This is silly good value

Domaine Marcel Lapierre, Morgon 'Cuvée Camille' 2024 Grenache Properly dryPlace: Beaujolais, France Grape: Gamay Vibe: Natural but a classic Coming off an old vine plot in the Cte du Py with southwest exposure and a very shallow layer of granitic topsoil. Geeky bits aside, this is probably my favourite 2023 from the whole of the Beaujolais. Reflecting the vintage there is fresher fruit than recent warm years whilst still deep and brooding. A driving minerality, fine tannin, and dense salinity hint at a beautiful life ahead.
