The shoulder construction is further enhanced by the direction of the stripes. The sweater is knitted in one piece from top down and does not need to be sewn together. First, the stitches are cast on at the center back, working first the left shoulder and then the right. Then stitches are picked up on the front of the shoulders and on the back.
