Canopy at Ilopango Size:24x36 The colors seemed unreal evenLake Ilopango, El Salvador This photograph was made beside Lake Ilopango, standing beneath a tree that stopped me in my tracks. Its branches twisted and bent in every direction, thick and muscular, reaching across the sky like something alive. I stepped underneath it and looked straight up, letting the canopy frame the light above. This was my first major international photography trip. I lived in El Salvador for more than two months, and it was one
