On earlier model Tikka T3s the bolt stop could be filed back to enable sufficient bolt travel to pick up the rounds, however newer models have a hollowed section inside the bolt stops which basically prevents any alteration. On the 223 or 7mm 08 for example, the rearward movement of the bolt is restricted by the bolt stop shoulder which is about 10mm
