這張義大利老明信片約可追溯至1911年。畫面中，一位身穿水手服的少年與一位戴著蝴蝶結的少女並肩坐在庭園裡，姿態端正而帶著早期攝影特有的靜止感。衣飾上的紅、藍與淡粉色彩皆經手工補染，使人物在泛黃的紙面中顯得柔和而鮮明。

斯蒂克斯出生於奧地利維也納。為了逃離奧地利的納粹，她於 1938 年移居巴黎。在那裡，她開始設計高級時裝陶瓷鈕扣和其他小型時尚配飾，並為Lanvin、Balenciaga和Schiaparelli在內的時裝公司設計作品。
