With the extreme cold temperatures of January and February

I stood up from where I was sitting on the log and took a couple last shots when I noticed two moose coming out from the pine forest and into the lake to feed on the vegetation

I was looking for some good composition which included the movement of the water over rocks and the reflections of the box elder trees that line the banks of Eakin Creek West

I made my way around the north end of the lake and stayed to photograph the two moose for another forty five minutes with Longs peak in the background

STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT PAGODA MOUNTAIN With the extreme cold temperaturesA beautiful morning hiking through Starved Rock State Park. I decided to go off trail to capture the sunlight as it penetrated through to the forest floor and illuminate the autumn colors of maple, oak and hophornbeam trees of this deciduous forest in Northern Illinois. I had to wait about a half hour for the sunlight to shine through this spectacular and majestic scene. It was worth the hike and patience to capture this majestic landscape. (683 3269)
