It has a dotted "arare" pattern throughout with a simple handle. The handle is movable and there is a removable aluminum strainer insert for tea leaves. Tetsubin began to be used in tea ceremonies in the late Edo period. Efficacy: Boiling water in an iron kettle makes the water milder and tastier, as well as providing iron to
