The joven or young style is unoaked to keep the grape's exuberant crisp fruit to the fore. Pair with lighter red meats such as pork or lamb, this will also work with a good roast chicken. Bierzo is a small, inland, hilly region in the north west of Spain and home of the Mencia grape. Raul Perez, the wine maker, really shows off his knowledge of his home turf with this wine.
