Numerous and colorful smooth hedge nettle can be seen along the trail during the summer months at Wildflower Park in Northern Illinois

This individual stayed for a few moments while I photographed him and then took to the wing in the morning light

There were many false sunflowers in bloom on this early October morning from this prairie in Northern Illinois

I came upon these burr oak trees highlighted by the snowfall on the branches that always make for a beautiful scene

I photographed this section of the creek for about an hour coming away with some beautiful images of the box elder trees and their reflection onto the creek
