These incredible spiders start off with a Christmas tree pattern similar to what many Ecuadorean Pamphobeteus species have, that fade with age. This spider along with P. ecclesiasticus and other similar Psalmopoeus with that pattern will likely be moved to its own genus one day. A few black species from Ecuador were
