Its not much fun to drink today and needs another 2-3 years of bottle age to hopefully open up

fleshy pear and exotic fruits that fill the mid-palate

This is an impressive wine that has that ‘wow’ factor

the 2016 captures all the breadth and tannic clout that are such signatures of this site

richer and more powerful flavors that also possess fine mid-palate concentration though not necessarily better persistence

Elio Grasso, Barolo Gavarini Chiniera Vintage:2012 Its not much fun toThe 2013 Barolo Gavarini Chiniera is much showier than the Ginestra Casa Mat. An ample, resonant Barolo, the Gavarini Chiniera exudes richness from the get go. Macerated cherry, kirsch, wild flowers and mint are some of the many notes that are laced together. Ripe, silky tannins add to the wine's considerable raciness. I am somewhat surprised by how well this gorgeous wine is showing today. Antonio Galloni
