Description

大島紬 ― 世界三大織物のひとつで産地は奄美群島。

モチーフである西洋薔薇の柄は1920年～1930年代に大流行しました。

「不断長久（家の繁栄が永く続くこと）」の意味を持つ吉祥紋様で、江戸時代、武将の指物（旗や飾り）の生地に施されることもありました。

大きく印象的な柄ですが、菊文様を描いたように見えます。

亀甲文様は古代に亀卜（きぼく）に使用されていた亀の甲羅の模様に由来し政治の意思決定などに使用された重要な占いで、現在でも皇室行事の秘儀として行われています。
