Basil was known for making bourbon with a higher percentage of rye, and today Old Grand Dad is made from Jim Beams higher rye bourbon mash bill of 63% corn, 27% rye, and 10% malted barley. Old Grand Dad Bottled in Bond is aged for a minimum of four years before bottling at 100 proof. The nose leans strongly towards cinnamon spice with some caramel and burnt oak
