to scientists and geologists as Mauna Kahalawai

is located on the east side of Maui just off the famous Road to Hana

Taken just a couple minutes from my home in Kealia

This beach is actually east of Lumahai Beach However, it's technically a different beach called Kahalahala, which in Hawaiian means Pandanus Trees. Locals sometimes call it Tourist Lumahai. This beach was made famous by the movie South Pacific starring Mitzi Gainer where she " washed that man right out of her hair!"
