Sunset along the Beach in Oregon Size:18"x24" The lower sunlight helps reflect

Sunset along the Beach in Oregon Size:18"x24" The lower sunlight helps reflectI spent some time along the Oregon Coast in the southern part of the state one February. During this time I found an open beach and did some long exposure photography at sunset to capture the motion of the water as it came onto the shore. At low tide there was plenty of opportunity to try different angles, however with that there was also the challenge of the tripod sinking in the wet sand. This image is looking straight out to the ocean where the sun

Description

The lower sunlight helps reflect the gold leaf on the dome itself and highlights the image amongst the changing trees

As sunset was approaching the park was filled with people playing disc golf as well as leaves from the trees as the peak color had passed

Currently the trail takes you through the approach lights thus when an aircraft is landing in Juneau people will stop and watch the aircraft come right over their head which was the case with this Boeing 757

Lining up the colors so they would fill the frame in a compelling way sometimes means having your tripod in a tight space but fortunately on this image it wasn't too much of an issue

This didn't last long however as some a whale was spotted in Lahaina Harbor quickly changing the focus of everyone
