It is finished in a warm red lacquer typical of the region, now beautifully aged to a soft, mellow tone. The doors are finely decorated with black painted landscape scenes, executed in delicate linework. These are not original but were added as part of the cabinet's restoration and are in keeping with the original design. They depict a
