With cold temperatures and overcast skies I went looking for an image leading me up Lookout Mountain from Golden

however I pushed myself and got to the location just after sunset hoping to catch dusk over the city

During the equinox there had been smoke from fires in the west as well as some much needed rain in Denver

With the wildfires in Colorado (most of which are either at or nearing 100% containment) there are just a fraction of the normal fireworks display around Denver for the 4th of July

I noticed the lines of the trees with the walk for the picture

Governors Mansion Size:8"x10" With cold temperatures and overcastI have walked past the Governor's Mansion in Denver many times and have always noticed the lines of the fence which surrounds the location. In late fall 2008, the colors were vivid still from the last fall color in the city. Using a shallow depth of field I focused on the brick post and let the lines lead to the color in the background.
