While heading south to Bellingham on the M/V Malaspina there are some limited open water crossing along the inside passage the path Alaska Marine Highways makes the journey

It was still nice to get out and watch the first morning of the year start with Denver as a backdrop

I planned to wake up early to get out to Washington Park prior to sunrise and see how it had been transformed

However there are also the small details which you can find as well as in this image

As I photographed from this location I noticed the black and white verticals and horizontals in a building nearby
