This image is a mosaic of the Carina Nebula assembled from 48 frames taken with Hubble Space Telescope's Advanced Camera for Surveys

The data is a combination of observations from the Galactic Legacy Infrared Mid-Plane Survey Extraordinaire (GLIMPSE) project

and a possible flare of X-rays in those obtained fifteen years later

in the southern constellation of Octans (The Octant)
