Nebulae with similar shapes were once called “cometary nebulae” because the star with an accompanying bright fan looked like a comet with a bright tail

The view was obtained at a distance of approximately 93

but above all about the large-scale mapping of the universe

Slightly to the lower right, a web of filaments harbours the famous supernova SN 1987A.
