The building behind the Corvette was inspired by several rural Chevrolet dealerships in northeastern Missouri where I grew up

Since I couldn’t find enough published photos to satisfy my research

Notice two drink cans in the painting

and in the 1980’s I sold many of these at the Festival of the Arts in Oklahoma City

He began building high performance/racing  cars in the building next to Baldwin Chevrolet

"See the USA" 1985-1996 The building behind the CorvetteOne of my favorite early Corvette watercolors features a Sunfire Yellow 1967 427 435 Sting Ray coupe. Ive always loved the extreme front angle of the mid year Corvette, especially with the black stinger stripe and hood scoop on the big block cars. The brick wall is based on one I photographed just outside the Loop in Chicago, while the neon sign at the top is borrowed from a dealership on Broadway in Oklahoma City.
