Isfahan Paradise Design Silk Rug Statues The original painting is believedA paradise design carpet based on a 20th Century Isfahan original, with pure silk pile hand woven on a cotton foundation to 256 knots per square inch. Paradise is portrayed as a peaceful harmony of flowers and trees garlanded by roses, with almost perfect love between creatures. The minor borders maintain the red and blue colour of the field ornaments in contrast to the very floral interpretation of the Shah Abbas border, in a strong red shade.
