As a juvenile it is a bright yellow all over with a blue eye. As it grows the yellow turns blue, finally becoming a deep navy with horizontal scribbled lines over its body. The tail sometimes remains yellow. Males and females are visually identical. The Atlantic blue tang can grow to be approximately 9 inches long and needs a large aquarium as an adult, we recommend at least 180
