Formal and informal waste collectors collect and sort plastic waste on the beaches of Krabi and Trang provinces

The majority of the population in this region is made up of low-income communities

Credits for this project will help fund the diversion of mixed plastic waste from mismanaged landfills that’s difficult or impossible to recycle to co-processing facilities

by placing a value on plastic waste

•  Establish two additional sorting facilities to expand capacity for handling marine plastic waste

This project partner collects both rigid plastics as well as low value plastic waste, such as single use plastic bags and multi layer packaging across a network of islands in South Sulawesi, which is processed into plastic pellets and flakes at their recycling
