One is dense with repairs

and other marks left by the people who used these books before

and signs of wear from the people who owned them before

Beneath Wall Art just like I didBeneath came together from many Japanese boro fragments, including a long noragi jacket from the 1800s that I deconstructed. I peeled back layers on several of the pieces to see what was underneath. I was especially excited when I found the fabric with the three faces. I had never come across a print like that before. It was a nice surprise. Beneath was made in 2024 and measures 43" wide x 44" high x 2" deep. It's stretched on premium Museo ALU frame
