大貫入の形成：胎土と釉層の膨張係数差を敢えて大きく取り、焼成後の急冷で釉面に大胆な裂紋を生じさせています。曲面をまたぐ貫入線は太細にリズムを付け、自然石の石目文様を思わせる雄渾な表情を生んでいます。

「交趾」という名称は、現在のベトナムの地域を指し、中国の王朝からの呼び名です。交趾焼は茶の湯の世界で好まれ、後に京焼でも生産されるようになりました。「染付交趏浪裏平盃」は、その伝統を引き継ぎ、繊細なデザインと技法の融合が特徴的な京焼の中でも特に目を引く作品です。
